Today according to Jeanette: First full day in beautiful, friendly Uganda.

We arrived safe and sound after a very long flight, The Uganda crew was there to meet us at the airport and to help with our 150 lbs x 6 pieces of luggage. We arrived at our accommodation and settled ourselves in. This morning we went back out to the airport to pick up Maddison from New Zealand. Volunteer staff all present and ready to work . Back to the school after a lunch out at Trudy’s. The main kits arrived here assembled but additional jobs were required. We needed to cut long bars of soap into 8 even pieces, each piece of soap bagged, pad liners folded, panties sorted, all of which were placed in bags prepared by women living in Uganda. We assembled a total of 550 kits. Good start for the day, another 950 to go. Quite the production. We are all feeling the effects of jet lag, trying hard to keep awake for another few hours.
