We all woke up this morning, feeling much like our “old” selves, after our long flights from home and a hard day of working on the kits. We had a fabulous day of getting to know Kampala. After piling into the van, Apollo drove us to get Andrew and then to Betty’s, one of Erika’s Mamas. Betty has a very impressive sewing & design studio where she teaches girls to sew, preparing them for opportunities in that field. Then… Erika, Andrew and Apollo showed us how to shop in Kampala. We visited special little stores for rings and things, shea butter and books! After lunch we were off to a couple of Muzungu markets, all the while dodging the traffic, boda bodas, trucks, cars and people. It was a wonderful but exhausting 4th of July!
