Today we went to Kiwuliriza primary school , we brought some sports gear and books. We set up 7 stations and put a different sport at each station. At my station we played soccer or football as it is called in Uganda. It was very fun. The children got very excited about playing the sports and were always smiling and very happy, it was an amazing experience. I also played duck duck goose with the younger children at my station they enjoyed it very much and so did I. After a quick break I read a small group of young kids a story. They all crowded around very close and loved joining in reading and looking at all the different colourful pictures it was a very special moment.
Before we left the school we had a big soccer/football game with the older kids. I was amazed at the skill all the players had. It was incredible to get the chance to play with them. They used the sports jerseys from Kelowna to make two teams one yellow and one blue. Calen and I played on the yellow team and Maddy played on the blue team. Many kids were sitting on the sideline cheering us on. It was wonderful. After the game all the little kids came up and held our hands and looked up and smiled it was the sweetest thing. They all loved to touch our hair and our arms it was very cute. I was very sad to say goodbye but it was a beautiful experience.
